WASHINGTON — Is there a doorway on Mars? That’s the question being asked by conspiracists online after NASA released a new picture taken by NASA Curiosity rover.
Snapped by the explorer’s Mast Camera (Mastcam) on Sol 3466 (May 7), the grainy image appears to show a cleanly-cut hole in a rockface. There has been no official NASA explanation of the sighting, but that hasn’t stop debate online about just what it shows.
One social media user described the scene as “a formation on Mars which appears to be a portal and a wall nearby that looks artificial,” while another concluded “swear to God, there’s at least 5 Martians camouflaged in there.”
However, others were more practical, with one Reddit user stating, “it’s obviously not a little door, it’s just a flat piece of broken rock.”
The Mars discovery comes at a time that the U.S. Congress is to hold an open hearing next Tuesday about UFOs for the first time in over 50 years. The House Intelligence Committee’s Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation Subcommittee will tackle the subject.
“The American people expect and deserve their leaders in government and intelligence to seriously evaluate and respond to any potential national security risks — especially those we do not fully understand,” said Indiana Democratic Rep. André Carson, chairman of the subcommittee, in a statement this week.
Federal officials released a report on documented cases of so-called “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAP) in Summer 2021. In it, the Director of National Intelligence examined 144 cases of UFOs, but could explain only one.
On Wednesday, UFO “watchdog” of sorts, “UFO of Interest” appeared to have debunked any talk of alien life. A tweet of theirs instead reveals the “doorway” to be a “little niche” in a much larger rock wall.

It’s a small crevice from a photo that’s been blown up. For those idiots who want to say it’s an alien door, the aliens then must be tiny.

It looks like the rock below left of the door would just about fit the little doorway, including the overhang at the top of the door. On the other hand, there seems to be a head peeking out the door on the right side.
Who says it’s tiny? Not NASA as they have oddly not commented. Internet misleaders and miserable sods with no kids balloons to pop at the moment no doubt.
Fissure or not, Why is it so incredible to think that life and consequently a civilisation flourished on Mars a billion years earlier than ours, until their atmosphere bled away into space killing everything and then getting burries in the sands of time? Are we doing any better with our atmosphere? It is unknown how or why the Mars atmosphere and water (it had both) disappeared – perhaps monumental greed and stupidity happened. What will our planet look like in a billion years if we continue on our current path?

According to NASA and JPL: “NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover used its Mast Camera, or Mastcam, to capture this mound of rock nicknamed “East Cliffs” on May 7, 2022, the 3,466th Martian day, or sol, of the mission. The mound, on Mount Sharp, has a number of naturally occurring open fractures – including one roughly 12 inches (30 centimeters) tall and 16 inches (40 centimeters) wide, similar in size to a dog door. These kinds of open fractures are common in bedrock, both on Earth and on Mars.”

Obvious that those in authority have reasons to keep this stuff under wraps, whether to not scare us, or to not let Russia and China in on bestowed high-tech…..
Co[py and paste, place in a word doc and slowly increase size, notice the foot prints, notice the unknown life form just inside the doorway. A person with a high resolution program will be able to get the facial features and extremities , maybe a weapon on side. No I am not crazy
Many years ago, (40yrs ago) suggested to some visiting mormons that mankind came to earth from Mars.
This led me to later write the first draughts of three books.
Life on Mars, observing the earth and the first settlers.
I have over the last six months been working on typing them out on my laptop. Again not my final impression, but basically, the books were, and still are, science fiction. But they are based on my belief that the mankind from mars trilogy, is based on the assumption that it was a possibily, one that had been forgotten over the thousands of years since it occured.
Only now.
I am currently working on my third and final draught.
The reason why I bring this up is that I do not believe I am the only one who has had the same thought, but those others, like me, dont usually admit to having those thoughts.
I wonder if the picture has been artificially augmented? If not, I think it shows more than a naturally occurring fracture. The straight line up of ascending rock fragments that match the clean cut opening would seem to be constructed by other than natural means.
