Feeling naughty? 7 in 10 adults claim they have sex on Christmas Day, survey finds

NEW YORK — It may be cold outside, but things could get hot and steamy for plenty of Americans inside during the holidays. A new survey finds that seven in 10 adults typically have sex on Christmas Day — even if they’ve traveled home for family festivities.

Nearly half (44 percent) of the 2,000 adults who took part in the “holiday hanky-panky” survey, which was commissioned by EdenFantasys, say they even have a Christmas Day romp penciled in on the calendar. Now that’s dedication!

“According to the National Center for Health Statistics, months August and September have the most births each year,” says Fred Petrenko of EdenFantasys in a statement. “This corresponds perfectly with our findings of Americans being quite frisky during the holidays. We all love winter cuddles!”

Just when you thought that spending the holidays at your parents’ or in-laws’ home would ruin the mood, the survey found it’s not stopping everyone from finding somewhere to get it on. In fact, 47 percent of respondents admit they’ve had sex in their childhood bedroom while visiting their folks. Similarly, 39 percent have gotten down and dirty in their partner’s childhood bedroom in a visit to their family.

And while that might give you some ideas on how to kill some time on Christmas, a quarter of respondents say they’ve been walked in on by their parents or partner’s parents while in the act of some holiday loving.

That means those feeling frisky may want to find somewhere else to get it on. Some respondents suggested some very unique spots that they say they were able to sneak off to for some holiday sex, including behind the Christmas tree, an outdoor basketball court, their rental car, a treehouse, or even on the roof of their parents’ home.

With all the sexual energy during the holiday season — about half of respondents say they feel friskier this time of year — it’s no wonder that about the same amount (47 percent) have actually gifted sex to their significant other as their present.

Oddly enough, the survey also showed that many respondents don’t mind having Christmas songs as the background music while in the bedroom. A third say “Jingle Bells” is totally fine to add to a hookup mix, while 28 percent would do it to “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” One in four would do the deed to “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Thankfully, the folks at EdenFantasys provided a list of the top 10 holiday songs that people would play while making love — in case you’re getting some ideas:

Jingle Bells (32 percent)
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (29 percent)
Jingle Bell Rock (26 percent)
Baby, it’s cold outside (26 percent)
Rockin’ around the Christmas tree (24 percent)
Santa Claus is coming to town (22 percent)
Santa Baby (22 percent)
White Christmas (21 percent)
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow (21 percent)
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas (18 percent)

The survey was conducted by OnePoll in October 2018.
